In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II, which included the work The Friendly Willows by Tom Lovell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 138,600.00 (€ 118,027.76), 73% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tom Lovell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Catchers of Wild Horses, which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 312,500.00 (€ 268,309.44).

Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Friendly Willows von Tom Lovell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 118.027,76) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tom Lovell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Catchers of Wild Horses beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 312.500,00 (€ 268.309,44) versteigert wurde.
