Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Todd Bienvenu was auctioned at Phillips in London in June this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,350.00 (€ 7,390.31). Admittedly, works by Todd Bienvenu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Crowd Surfing in May last year with an auction result of USD 75,600.00 (€ 70,450.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Todd Bienvenu im Juni diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.350,00 (€ 7.390,31) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Todd Bienvenu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Crowd Surfing im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 70.450,10).
