Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Certain Neighbourhood (2nd Version) by Toby Ziegler was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in November 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,386.00 (€ 1,547.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toby Ziegler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Designated For Leisure in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 128,500.00 (€ 179,739.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Certain Neighbourhood (2nd Version) von Toby Ziegler im November 2020 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.386,00 (€ 1.547,24) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Toby Ziegler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Designated For Leisure im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 128.500,00 (€ 179.739,40).
