Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Titus Kaphar could be acquired at Christies in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled (Redaction) changed hands for USD 120,000.00 (€ 116,245.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Titus Kaphar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled III in June 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 893,399.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Titus Kaphar konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Redaction) für USD 120.000,00 (€ 116.245,28) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Titus Kaphar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled III im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.058.500,00 (€ 893.399,73).
