This artwork by Tina Modotti achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in October 2017. In the The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation auction, the work Hammock sold for USD 60,000.00 (€ 51,510.99) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tina Modotti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Telephone Wires, Mexico in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 692,000.00 (€ 617,801.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tina Modotti erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation wurde die Arbeit Hammock für USD 60.000,00 (€ 51.510,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tina Modotti erzielen.
