Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2003 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included this untitled work by Tim Johnson. The price achieved of AUD 4,700.00 (€ 2,776.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tim Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, which sold at auction in August 2009 for AUD 14,400.00 (€ 8,466.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2003 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Tim Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.700,00 (€ 2.776,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tim Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri beobachtet, die im August 2009 für AUD 14.400,00 (€ 8.466,04) versteigert wurde.
