Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Thota Vaikuntam was auctioned at Christies in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 10,303.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thota Vaikuntam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Women), which sold at auction in May last year for GBP 20,400.00 (€ 23,998.66).
