Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Lady) by Thota Vaikuntam was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Bonhams in London in November last year. The price achieved of GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,125.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thota Vaikuntam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Women), which sold at auction in May last year for GBP 20,400.00 (€ 23,998.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Lady) von Thota Vaikuntam wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.012,50 (€ 8.125,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Thota Vaikuntam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Women) beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für GBP 20.400,00 (€ 23.998,66) versteigert wurde.
