Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Thota Vaikuntam was sold in the The Indian Sale auction at Sothebys in London in May 2007. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,297.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thota Vaikuntam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Women) in May last year with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 23,998.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Thota Vaikuntam wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion The Indian Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.297,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thota Vaikuntam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Women) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.400,00 (€ 23.998,66).
