Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Sothebys in New York held the auction Indian Art Including Miniatures & Modern Indian Paintings, which included the work Two Untitled Works by Thota Vaikuntam. The price achieved of USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,837.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thota Vaikuntam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Women) in May last year with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 23,998.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2006 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Indian Art Including Miniatures & Modern Indian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Untitled Works von Thota Vaikuntam zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.600,00 (€ 2.837,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thota Vaikuntam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Women) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.400,00 (€ 23.998,66).
