Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Femme Verte, Circa 1995 by Thota Vaikuntam was sold in the 20th Century Indian Art auction at Artcurial in Paris in December 2007. The price achieved of EUR 7,435.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thota Vaikuntam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Women), which sold at auction in May last year for GBP 20,400.00 (€ 23,998.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Femme Verte, Circa 1995 von Thota Vaikuntam wurde im Dezember 2007 in der Auktion 20th Century Indian Art bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 7.435,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Thota Vaikuntam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Women) beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für GBP 20.400,00 (€ 23.998,66) versteigert wurde.
