Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Roman Courtyard by Thomas Wijck was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The price achieved of GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,096.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,400.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Wijck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mediterranean Harbour Scene With Oriental Merchants in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,053.37).
