A top price for Thomas Wijck - as previously expected
In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work A Mediterranean Harbour Scene With Oriental Merchants by Thomas Wijck. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,053.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Mediterranean Harbour Scene With Oriental Merchants is the most expensive artwork by Thomas Wijck that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Mediterranean Harbour Scene With Oriental Merchants von Thomas Wijck zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 49.053,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
