This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Pictures at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of NLG 60,000.00 many Admittedly, works by Thomas de Keijzer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a silversmith, thought to be Christian van Vianen, seated full-length, in brown costume and a black hat, holding a drawing and a salt-cellar, at a carpeted table in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 644,650.00 (€ 997,127.56).
