Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Travel & Exploration, which included the work 'Western Entrance Of Fort St George'; 'The Government House, Fort St George' Plate 47.9 X 64.6Cm (18 7/8 X 25 1/2In). (2) Unframed by Thomas Daniell. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,708.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast in January this year with an auction result of USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 986,369.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Travel & Exploration durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Western Entrance Of Fort St George'; 'The Government House, Fort St George' Plate 47.9 X 64.6Cm (18 7/8 X 25 1/2In). (2) Unframed von Thomas Daniell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.708,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Daniell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The entrance of an excavated Hindu cave temple at Mahabalipuram on the Coromandel Coast im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 986.369,50).
