Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams held the auction Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples, which included the work Deux chats, affiche pour l'exposition de l'artiste à la Bodinière by Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,906.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Coup De Vent in December 2007 with an auction result of EUR 276,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Deux chats, affiche pour l'exposition de l'artiste à la Bodinière von Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.906,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Coup De Vent im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 276.250,00.
