Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Theodore Roussel could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints auction, the work Views Of London changed hands for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,867.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Theodore Roussel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portraits Of Dorothy, Countess Of Leicester (1598-1659); Lady Anne Rich (1612-1638); Anne, Countess Of Middlesex (D.1670); And Mary Kirk (1646-1711) in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,628.34).
