In October 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Girl Seated, Writing by Theodore Robinson. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,712.37) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Normandy Garden, October in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,496,000.00 (€ 1,112,019.62).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl Seated, Writing von Theodore Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.712,37) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theodore Robinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Normandy Garden, October im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.496.000,00 (€ 1.112.019,62).
