Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Farmer on a Country Road by Theodore Robinson. It changed hands for a price of USD 27,500.00 (€ 19,529.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Normandy Garden, October in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,496,000.00 (€ 1,112,019.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Farmer on a Country Road von Theodore Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 19.529,86) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theodore Robinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Normandy Garden, October im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.496.000,00 (€ 1.112.019,62).
