The work Figures in a landscape by Theodore Major was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Christies in London in December 2012. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,707.99), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Theodore Major have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Industrial Landscape in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 34,100.00 (€ 42,838.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Figures in a landscape von Theodore Major wurde im Dezember 2012 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.707,99) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theodore Major auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Industrial Landscape im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 34.100,00 (€ 42.838,06).
