This artwork by Thaddeus Strode achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in October 2007. In the The Marino Golinelli Collection auction, the work And the Band Played On…(I don't know mind) #1 sold for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,232.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Thaddeus Strode; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Let Sleeping Gods Lie (The Eggs Cracked) sold at auction in October 2007 with the realized price of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 18,956.07).
