Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Distorted Plane Construction No.2 by Terry Pope. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,538.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Terry Pope - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Linear Space Construction No. 1, which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,521.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Distorted Plane Construction No.2 von Terry Pope zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.538,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Terry Pope mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Linear Space Construction No. 1 beobachtet, die im März 2017 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.521,70) versteigert wurde.
