Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
When the work Reeds under Moonlight by Tao Lengyue was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 80,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at HKD 625,000.00 (€ 69,493.67). Admittedly, works by Tao Lengyue have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Peonies Of Prosperity in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 3,640,000.00 (€ 338,543.62).
Kunstwerk zum Siebenfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Reeds under Moonlight von Tao Lengyue im November 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 80.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 625.000,00 (€ 69.493,67) mehr als siebenmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tao Lengyue auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Peonies Of Prosperity im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.640.000,00 (€ 338.543,62).
