Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Lord Byron Died by Tacita Dean was sold in the Edition Schellmann: Fifty Are Better Than One auction at Phillips in London in June 2019. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,248.30), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tacita Dean achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wake in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 133,250.00 (€ 165,673.00).
