In October 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Art For Grenfell, which included the work Lay The Dust With Tears by Tacita Dean. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,654.40), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Tacita Dean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wake in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 133,250.00 (€ 165,673.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Art For Grenfell durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lay The Dust With Tears von Tacita Dean zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.654,40) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tacita Dean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wake im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 133.250,00 (€ 165.673,00).
