Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Sydney Long achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2007. In the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction, the work Summer sold for GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,592.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Sydney Long have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian the Milkmaid in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 67,200.00 (€ 39,227.87).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sydney Long erzielte im März 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures wurde die Arbeit Summer für GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.592,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sydney Long auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian the Milkmaid im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 67.200,00 (€ 39.227,87).
