Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sydney Long could be acquired at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II auction, the work Flamingoes changed hands for AUD 4,182.50 (€ 2,515.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sydney Long achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian the Milkmaid in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 67,200.00 (€ 39,227.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sydney Long konnte im April 2006 bei Christies in Melbourne für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II wechselte die Arbeit Flamingoes für AUD 4.182,50 (€ 2.515,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sydney Long erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian the Milkmaid im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 67.200,00 (€ 39.227,87).
