Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Lovers by Sven Berlin was sold in the Twentieth Century British Art auction at Christies in London in July 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 537.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sven Berlin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Teenagers in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,598.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Lovers von Sven Berlin wurde im Juli 2003 in der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 537,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sven Berlin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Teenagers im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.598,03).
