Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Sleeping Figure by Sven Berlin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,240.00 (€ 9,267.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sven Berlin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Teenagers, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,598.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sleeping Figure von Sven Berlin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.240,00 (€ 9.267,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sven Berlin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Teenagers beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.598,03) versteigert wurde.
