Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On The Edge by Suleiman Mansour was sold in the 20th Century Art / Middle East auction at Sothebys in London in March 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,699.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Suleiman Mansour - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shaheda Min Tel al-Zaatar (The Witness of Tel al-Zaatar), which sold at auction in November last year for GBP 101,100.00 (€ 117,151.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On The Edge von Suleiman Mansour wurde im März 2020 in der Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.699,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Suleiman Mansour mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shaheda Min Tel al-Zaatar (The Witness of Tel al-Zaatar) beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für GBP 101.100,00 (€ 117.151,82) versteigert wurde.
