Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Legacy Mantle by Sui Jianguo was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 30,533.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sui Jianguo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Shadow Of The Century (Set Of Ten) in October 2011 with an auction result of HKD 5,780,000.00 (€ 533,780.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Legacy Mantle von Sui Jianguo im November 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 30.533,99) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sui Jianguo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Shadow Of The Century (Set Of Ten) im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.780.000,00 (€ 533.780,74).
