Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vehicle for Seven Seas II by Subodh Gupta was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 44,100.00 (€ 37,554.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Subodh Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 12,980,000.00 (€ 1,320,312.25).
