Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bucket by Subodh Gupta was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in February 2020. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 57,950.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Subodh Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 12,980,000.00 (€ 1,320,312.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bucket von Subodh Gupta wurde im Februar 2020 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 57.950,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Subodh Gupta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.980.000,00 (€ 1.320.312,25).
