Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Barrage by Steve McQueen was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 12,064.95). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steve McQueen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work More, which sold at auction in May 2021 for GBP 22,680.00 (€ 26,388.70).
