Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Barrage No. 48 by Steve McQueen was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in London in September 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,461.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Steve McQueen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work More in May 2021 with an auction result of GBP 22,680.00 (€ 26,388.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Barrage No. 48 von Steve McQueen wurde im September 2016 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.461,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Steve McQueen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit More im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.680,00 (€ 26.388,70).
