Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction PhotographsSummer Edition, which included the work Aranyaprathet, Thailand by Steve McCurry. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,167.50 (€ 1,836.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Steve McCurry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010 in November 2018 with an auction result of INR 3,750,000.00 (€ 47,359.36).
