The work Afghan Girl by Steve McCurry was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2013. It achieved a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,478.13), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Steve McCurry; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010 sold at auction in November 2018 with the realized price of INR 3,750,000.00 (€ 47,359.36).
