Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Sentinel #6 by Stephen Greene for USD 940.00 (€ 1,020.41). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist and Modern, Post-War and Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen Greene achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carrying the Cross in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 22,575.00 (€ 20,248.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sentinel #6 von Stephen Greene für USD 940,00 (€ 1.020,41) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern, Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stephen Greene erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carrying the Cross im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.575,00 (€ 20.248,45).
