In May 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Mourners by Stephen Greene. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,349.95), 25% above the upper estimate. Other works by Stephen Greene have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 22,575.00 (€ 20,248.45) in May 2019 for the work Carrying the Cross.

Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Mourners von Stephen Greene zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.349,95) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Stephen Greene haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.575,00 (€ 20.248,45) im Mai 2019 für die Arbeit Carrying the Cross beobachtet.
