Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Stephen Greene could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Impressionist and Modern, Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Pleasure Dome #12 changed hands for USD 587.50 (€ 637.76) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen Greene achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carrying the Cross in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 22,575.00 (€ 20,248.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Stephen Greene konnte im Februar 2001 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern, Post-War and Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Pleasure Dome #12 für USD 587,50 (€ 637,76) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stephen Greene erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carrying the Cross im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.575,00 (€ 20.248,45).
