In November 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Self-Portrait by Stephen Conroy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,770.42), 61% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Stephen Conroy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L.R. in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 86,900.00 (€ 124,794.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 61 % übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Stephen Conroy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.770,42) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stephen Conroy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L.R. im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 86.900,00 (€ 124.794,12).
