Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work No Expectations by Stefan Kürten was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,506.06). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stefan Kürten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Western Music (16-teilige Serie), which sold at auction in June 2015 for EUR 23,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit No Expectations von Stefan Kürten im September 2011 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.506,06) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Stefan Kürten mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Western Music (16-teilige Serie) beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für EUR 23.800,00 versteigert wurde.
