This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 600,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Stanton Macdonald-Wright; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Still-Life Synchromy sold at auction in November 2014 with the realized price of USD 2,165,000.00 (€ 1,740,633.54).
