The work Sans Titre by Sophie Taeuber-Arp was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art auction at Sothebys in Paris in June 2010. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 31,950.00 60% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sophie Taeuber-Arp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond noir in February 2019 with an auction result of GBP 187,500.00 (€ 218,725.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Sans Titre von Sophie Taeuber-Arp wurde im Juni 2010 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 31.950,00 und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sophie Taeuber-Arp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond noir im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 187.500,00 (€ 218.725,28).
