Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sophie Taeuber-Arp achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in May 2012. In the Art Impressionniste et Moderne auction, the work Composition sold for EUR 70,350.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sophie Taeuber-Arp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond noir, which sold at auction in February 2019 for GBP 187,500.00 (€ 218,725.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sophie Taeuber-Arp erzielte im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Impressionniste et Moderne wurde die Arbeit Composition für EUR 70.350,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sophie Taeuber-Arp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond noir beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für GBP 187.500,00 (€ 218.725,28) versteigert wurde.
