In June 2010 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art, which included the work Cimetière De Montmartre by Sophie Taeuber-Arp. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 41,550.00 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sophie Taeuber-Arp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond noir in February 2019 with an auction result of GBP 187,500.00 (€ 218,725.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cimetière De Montmartre von Sophie Taeuber-Arp zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 41.550,00 und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sophie Taeuber-Arp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Composition dans un cercle blanc sur fond noir im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 187.500,00 (€ 218.725,28).
