Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Waste Not by Song Dong was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 7,437.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Song Dong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stamping On Water (Set Of 36) in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,360,000.00 (€ 126,488.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Waste Not von Song Dong wurde im Mai 2013 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 7.437,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Song Dong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stamping On Water (Set Of 36) im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.360.000,00 (€ 126.488,82).
