Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Somnath Hore was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 75.00 (€ 83.56). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Somnath Hore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Draupadi and Shakuni in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 100,524.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Somnath Hore im Dezember 2018 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 75,00 (€ 83,56) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Somnath Hore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Draupadi and Shakuni im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 100.524,85).
