Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Baroda Graphic Workshop Prints by Somnath Hore was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in New York in March 2021. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,257.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Somnath Hore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Draupadi and Shakuni in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 100,524.85).
