the complete set of sixteen signed and numbered lithographs including title page, on Magnani, copy 22 of 50 (there were also 10 artist's proofs in Roman numerals), with full margins, loose (as issued), a few soft handling creases, pressure marks and very minor soiling, otherwise all in very good condition, original printed box (minor wear, ink and paint). 584 x 584 mm.

It achieved a price of USD 4,182.50 (€ 4,211.14), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 39%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).

Die Arbeit Lines of One Inch in Four Directions and all Combinations in Black and White, Chicago, Landfall Press, 1971 (Tate L6) von Sol LeWitt kam im November 2002 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.182,50 (€ 4.211,14) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 39%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
